8. Application for a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC)

Description: Under this procedure, competent authorities are required to enable users to submit an application for EHIC and supporting evidence in digital format. Users have to receive (a) an automatic acknowledgement of receipt of the application in digital format and (b) the EHIC in digital format. In case a user is found non eligible for such a card, the decision on the eligibility should be delivered electronically.
