11. Registering a motor vehicle originating from or already registered in a Member State, in standard procedures
Description: This procedure concerns a situation where a motor vehicle is already registered in one Member State and its owner wants to move and register it in another Member State, or where the registered vehicle is sold and the new owner wants to register it in another Member State.
To collect the necessary evidence for the motor vehicle registration procedure, users need to present the vehicle for physical inspection. Recital 27 of the SDG regulation foresees situations where users might be required to submit evidence to prove facts that cannot be established by online means, such as proof of roadworthiness of motor vehicles.
Competent authority: Ministry of the Interior and Center for Vehicles of Croatia.
Necessary conditions for the e-Service to work properly:
- proof of vehicle registration Part I (with the optional II.6 C.2 vehicle owner information included)
- proof of vehicle registration Part I (with only the mandatory II.5 C4 owner related information included)
- proof of vehicle registration Part II.
When is the SDG service used?
This SDG service is used when an EU/EEA citizen wishes to register a motor vehicle in Croatia, the one that was previously registered in another Member State.
Example:
If a citizen of the European Union, a natural person residing in a Member State, moves to Croatia, then wishes to register his car that was previously registered, for example, in Italy. Through the SDG service "Motor Vehicle Registration", an electronical submission of all the necessary documents must be made to the vehicle inspection station, including proof of the vehicle's technical condition and, in this case, the Italian registration documents. After that, the vehicle is taken to the vehicle inspection station, where the vehicle registration procedure is completed and the Croatian vehicle registration certificate as well as the license plates are issued.
